28 golfers turned out on a glorious Saturday morning to take part in the 2013 Grande Meadows Men's Night Finale which consisted of 9 holes of Best Ball team play followed by 9 holes of individual play. There was an on course prize on each of the 18 holes which included longest drive, closest to the pin as well as closest to either the white or red stick. Each golfer could only win 2 on the on course prizes.

The highlight of the day was the announcement of the Norm Croucher Award which goes to the person who best exemplifies the qualities of sportsmanship on and around the golf course. The award is voted on by the Men's Night Golfers and the 2013 winner was Jerry Adams.
Conditions were perfect for golf and at the end of the first 9 holes 2 of the 6 teams were tied at -5. Team 3 consisting of Barry Stacey, Sam Cleal, Charlie Loughlin, Carl Brown and Jeremy Cribb won a playoff with Team 4 which included Ches Cribb, Art Cluett, Harold Foote, Shawn Keating and Frank Hodder. Both teams were still tied after the first playoff hole and the tie breaker consisted of each player hitting one shot from the 100 yard marker to the green with the closest shot winning for his team. Sam Cleal of Team 3 hit his shot to within 10 feet to secure the victory.
To determine the individual winners, each players scorecard was drawn and matched up with another player. The two players with the score closest to 80 and the two players with the score closest to 90 were declared the winners. The low score winners were Mike Russell and Barry Stacey with a score of 80 while there was a tie for score closest to 90 between the pair of Charlie Loughlin and Pius Power as well as Ray Warren and Cyril Abbott who posted scores of 89.
On behalf of all the Men's Night participants a special thanks and congratulations go out to the Men's Night Committee for all their hard work and dedication throughout the 2013 golf season. Members of the committee included from L to R: Edmund Antle, Ches Cribb, John Bugden and Ray Walsh.
Special thanks to Brad O'Neil of Canadian Tire for his donation of some Canadian Tire Gift Cards for Men's Night throughout the season.
