7th Annual Burin Peninsula Open Golf Tournament
Perry Stone fired a tournament record 73 on Saturday to capture the 7th Annual Burin Peninsula Open golf tournament. Ray Walsh and Bob Hoyles finished tied for second with scores of 78 while Mike Russell followed 2 strokes back at 80.
Robin Smith won Division 2 with a score of 88 while Kevin Pittman finished second with a score of 89 followed by Jeremy Cribb and Ivan Paul tied for third with 92.
Judy Drake won the Ladies Division with a score of 97 while Debbie Kenway finished second with a score of 100 and Betty Walsh finished third with 103.
Chad Antle won the Men's Division 1 Low Net with 68 while Wayne Stacey won Men's Division 2 Low Net with 63 and Debbie Kenway won the Ladies Division Low Net with 69.

Men's Night Best Ball Tournament Results
The Grande Meadows Men’s Night Committee hosted their 3rd annual Four Person Best Ball Tournament on Saturday July 12, 2014 with a total of 77 golfers taking part. The tournament was 18 holes and teams were composed of 4 players competing in stroke play.
Special thanks to all of the participants, volunteers and the club house staff for making the day a great success.

Final Report
Matthew Tibbo of Blomidon Golf Course in Corner Brook carded an 80 in Round 3 on Sunday to win the 2014 Men's Amateur Golf Championship with a 3 day total of 232. Matthew won by 5 shots over defending champion and twin brother Michael Tibbo who carded a second straight 83 for a 237 total.
Erin Lundrigan of Burin who now plays out of Bally Haly golf course in St. John's shot an 85 on Sunday for a 3 day total of 255 to win the Ladies Amateur Golf Championship over Allison Crawford of Clovelly who shot 90 on Sunday for a 3 day total of 269.
Eddie Bearns of Bally Haly won the Men's Mid-Amateur with a 3 day total of 239 with scores of 81 on Sunday to go along with scores of 79 on Friday and Saturday. Matthew Hackett of Grande Meadows fired an 87 on Sunday to go along with earlier scores of 80 and 76 to finish in 2nd with a 3 day total of 243.
Allison Crawford of Bally Haly won the Ladies Mid-Amateur with a 3 day total of 269 to win by 4 strokes over Shelley Keeping of Grande Meadows who finished with a 3 day total of 273.
Wayne Ford of Blomidon won the Men's Senior with a 3 day total of 240 while Ray Walsh of Grande Meadows finished one stroke back with a total of 241 and Bob Hoyles of Grande Meadows finished third with a 3 day total of 242.
Other winners included Janet Mills of Bally Haly who won both the Ladies Mid-Masters and Seniors Titles. Jan Peters of Bally Haly won the Ladies Super Seniors.
Eddie Bearns of Bally Haly won the Men's Mid-Masters while Walter Crotty of Bally Haly won the Men's Super Seniors.
On the Men's side Grande Meadows Matthew Hackett made the Mid-Amateur team while Ray Walsh and Bob Hoyles made the Senior team(see above photo).
On the Ladies side Erin Lundrigan and Shelley Keeping made the Ladies Amateur team. All 5 have qualified to represent NL at the Atlantic Championships in Baddeck, NS in August as well as at the various National Amateur Golf Championships being held later this year.

Matthew Tibbo of Blomidon shot a 74 on Saturday to take over the lead in the Men's Amateur with a 2 day total of 152 to lead by 2 shots over defending champion and brother Michael Tibbo who carded a second straight 77 for a 154 total.
Erin Lundrigan of Burin shot an 88 on Saturday for a 2 day total of 170 to lead the Ladies Amateur after Day 2 by 1 stroke over Kathleen Jean of Harmon Seaside Links in Stephenville who shot an 85 for a 2 day total of 171.
Matthew Hackett of Grande Meadows leads the Men's Mid-Amateur with a 2 day total of 156 with scores of 80 and 76 while Jeff Sharpe of Bally Haly is in 2nd with a 2 day total of 162 having carded scores of 80 and 82.
Chuck Conley of Bally Haly fired a second straight 77 for a 154 total to lead the Men's Mid-Masters by 4 strokes over Eddie Bearns of Bally Haly who carded his second straight 79 for a 158 total.
Wayne Ford of Blomidon leads the Men's Senior with a 2 day total of 156 having carded scores of 78 both Friday and Saturday. Bob Hoyles matched the low round of the day with a 74 to go along with an opening day 83 to remain 1 stroke back at 157. Tom Jones and Bob Skanes both of Gander Golf Club are tied for 3rd with 2 day totals of 158.
Shelley Keeping of Grande Meadows who fired an 80 to go along with an opening day 97 for a 177 total to lead the Ladies Mid-Amateur over Kim Stead of Glendenning who had a 2 day total of 194.
Kathleen Jean carded an 85 on Saturday to go along with an opening day 86 for a 171 total to lead the Ladies Mid-Masters and Ladies Senior over Janet Mills of Bally Haly who fired a second straight 90 for a 180 total .
Jan Peters of Bally Haly leads the Ladies Super Senior by 1 stroke over Judy Gillam of Humber Valley Resort. Peters had scores of 91 and 92 while Gillam carded scores of 89 and 95.
Walter Crotty of Bally Haly leads the Men's Super Senior by 7 strokes over Ray Stoodley of Bally Haly. Crotty had scores of 76 and 86 for a total of 162 while Stoodley carded scores of 84 and 85 for a 2 day total of 169.

Defending Men's Amateur Champion Michael Tibbo of Blomidon Golf Course in Corner Brook shot an opening day 77 to lead the Men's Amateur by 1 stroke over Jordan Pittman of Twin Rivers and Matthew Tibbo of Blomidon who both had scores of 78.
Erin Lundrigan of Burin shot an 82 to lead the Ladies Amateur after Day 1 by 2 strokes over Allison Crawford of Clovelly who carded an 84. Kathleen Jean of Harmon Seaside Links in Stephenville is in 3rd place with an 86.
Jeff Sharpe of Bally Haly and Matthew Hackett of Grande Meadows are tied for the Men's Mid-Amateur having had scores of 80 on Friday.

Kathleen Jean's 86 also leads the Ladies Mid-Masters and Ladies Senior. Janet Mills of Bally Haly fired a 90 to trail Jean by 4 strokes for the Mid-Masters while Judy Gillam of Humber Valley Resort had an 89 to trail Jean for the Ladies Senior by 3 strokes.

Provincial Golf Championships
Grande Meadows Golf Course is set to host the 2104 Royal LePage Adult Golf Championships this week. 90 of the top golfers from across the province and Labrador are set to tee it up on Friday morning for the right to represent Newfoundland and Labrador at the Atlantic Championships at the Bell Bay Golf Course in Baddeck, Nova Scotia in August. Included in the 88 golfers are 29 golfers from Grande Meadows.
Thursday is set aside for a practice round with 3 18-hole stroke play rounds to be played on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Golfers will compete in the Amateur, Mid-Amateur, Mid-Masters, Seniors and Super Senior Divisions in both the Men's and Women's Divisions with awards presented on Sunday afternoon.
2012 and 2103 Men's Amateur Champion Michael Tibbo as well as 2013 Ladies Amateur Champion Sandra Sparrow are back to defend their titles but face stiff competition from many of the province's finest golfers.
