12th Annual Burin Peninsula Open Results
Perry Stone won the 2019 B. P. Open on Saturday carding a low round of 73 to win by five strokes over Mike Russell who finished with a round of 78. Stone fired an opening 9 holes of 3 under par 33 on route to his third B. P. Open title while Russell who was 4 strokes behind at the turn with an opening 37 on the front 9 cut the lead to 3 strokes but couldn't get any closer as he finished with a 41 on the back 9 to Stone's 40. Bob Hoyles finished in 3rd with a score of 80 while defiending champion Ray Walsh and Bill Hanrahan were one stroke back at 81.
Hanrahan won the Low Net with a 70 while Hoyles finished second at 71 followed by Tony Mitchell in third at 74.
Ches Cribb captured the Men's Competitive Division 2 with a low round of 81 to win by 4 strokes over Glenn Price, Gary Smith and Vince Baker who all carded scores of 85. Cribb and Price opened with 39's on the front 9 but Price couldn't keep the pace as he finished with 46 on the back 9 while Cribb carded a 42 to pull away for the victory.
Glenn Price won the Low Net with a score of 67 followed by Vince Baker in second at 70 and Stan McCarthy in third at 71.
In a very competitive Men's Senior Division 1 Art Cluett won with a socre of 88 to win by 1 stroke over Al Lewis, Glen Picco and Ben Grandy who each finished with a score of 89 while Dick Hanrahan, Brad Russell and Frank Hodder all finished two strokes back at 91.
Lewis won the Low Net in a tiebreaker over Hanrahan with scores of 69 followed by Frank Hodder in third with 72, Kevin Carvery in fourth with a 74 and John Bugden in fifth with 78.
Terry White captured the Men's Senior Division 2 with a round of 93 to win by 1 stroke over Keith Howse who carded a 94 while Sam Synard finished in 3rd with a 97 followed by Bill Hodder in 4th at 98 and Dave Brenton in 5th at 99.
Howse edged out Brenton in a tie breaker for the Low Net with scores of 70
Debbie Kenway won the Ladies Division with a low round of 88 while Jeannette Lundrigan finished second with a score of 101. Jennifer Nolan finshed in 3rd place with a round of 103 while Dot Baker came in 4th with a 108 total.
Baker won the Low Net with a score of 70 followed by Nolan in second with a 77.
