The 2010 Annual General Meeting of the Grande Meadows Golf Course was held on March 24 at Hotel Marystown. A good turnout of members were given a report on last season’s activities and an update on things to come in 2010.
The Board of Directors were elected for the upcoming season with Jerry Pike, Keith Roberts, Tom Eastman, Fred Dodge, Frank Blagdon and Tina Hanrahan returning from last year along with newcomer to the Board Shelley Moulton. Golf Captain for the coming season is Perry Stone. Special thanks to Jean Hollett for her dedication and hard work as a member of the Board of Directors for the past 5 years.
It was announced that the 5 new tee decks built through a HRDC grant last year will be in use this year and another project has been secured from HRDC to complete new tee decks on the remaining 4 holes. The construction should begin next week and be completed by the end of April. With weather like last year hopefully all the new tee decks will be in use before the end of the golfing season.
While construction is ongoing from Monday to Thursday for the next few weeks the course will not be able to be used. However, members will be welcome to come and golf from Friday to Sunday while construction is ongoing. The first day that the course will be available to play is Friday April 2.
