Joe Drake wins Burin Peninsula Open

Joe Drake birdied Hole #9 on Saturday to shoot a front 9 score of 37 on route to his second Burin Peninsula Open Men's Golf championship with a score of 79. Drake won the his first B. P. Open title in 2010. Drake who led by 2 strokes over Perry Stone and Matthew Hackett after the opening 9 holes carded a 42 on the second 9 holes to win by 4 strokes over Hackett and Bob Hoyles who both carded scores of 83 while Stone finished with an 84.

Judy Drake won the Burin Peninsula Open Ladies Golf championship with a score of 102 while Tracey Blagdon finished second with a total of 119.

Shawn Keating won the Men's Division 2 Championship with a score of 92 having shot 46 on both the front and back 9 holes. Keating won by 3 strokes over Eric Ayers whose 95 came from 47 on the front and 48 on the back. John Bugden finished alone in 3rd place with a score of 97.

Bob Hoyles won the Division 1 Low Net with a score of 72 while Eric Ayers won the Division 2 Low Net with a score of 69. Tracey Blagdon won the Ladies Low Net with a score of 69.
