Grande Meadows Golf Course
2019 Annual General Meeting
A great turnout of approximately 30 members came out for the 2019 Grande Meadows Annual General Meeting. It was one of the largest turnouts in recent memory and there were some great discussions throughout the evening.
Board Chairperson Clayton Welsh in his address gave thanks to the Baord Members who helped out throughout the past season. He especially thanked Debbie Kenway and Matthew Hackett who did not seek re-election to the Board for personal reason. He mentioned that it was a trying year for Grande Meadows financially and part of that was due to a lot of poor weather last summer.
Other Committee reports were give by comittee chairs John Bugden, Keith Howse, Debbie Kenway, Matthew Hackett, Eric Ayers and Barry Stacey. These reports commented on the various activities that were carried out at the course throughout last golf season.
John Bugden, Financial Chairman, gave a run down on the auditor's report as well as the proposed budget for 2109. Last year's budget showed a deficit of just over $13,000 which was due mainly to our loss of two full weekends in July due to poor weather.
Perry Stone was re-elected Golf Captain for the upcoming season. Perry was commended attending all Board Meetings and for the great job he did last year in representing the interests of all golfers.
For the first time in many years there was actually a vote for the Election of the Board of Directors as there were 8 people nominated for 7 positions. Those re-elected this year included Clayton Welsh, Keith Howse, John Bugden, Barry Stacey while newcomers elected were Jeannette Lundrigan, Dominic Lundrigan and Denisine Nolan.
