Season Finale 2020
Grande Meadows Junior Golf Program was a great success this season thanks to our wonderful group of 35 players who dedicated many hours of practice and hard work. These players were always eager to learn something from their coaches, parents and volunteers. In uncertain times due to Covid-19 we could not have asked for a better year of golf.
The Junior program concluded this past week with the finale tournament on Tuesday & Thursday consisting of 9 hole rounds each day.
Annie McCarthy is the Junior Female Champion for 2020 wiining out over Eva Moulton who finished second while Madalynn Stacey finished in third place.
Kelly Walsh is the 2020 Boys Champion with a close 2 stroke victory over defending champion James Mitchell. Walsh had a 2 day total of 96 while Mitchell came in at 98. Following closely in third place was first year junior golfer Kevin Power who carded a 99. Nicholas Murray and Malcolm Fizzard finished in a tie for 4th with a 111 total.
Carter Evans captured the Boys B Division title with a two day total of 107 while Lucas Higgins finished second with a 119 total and Kurtis Badcock was 3rd with a 124 total.
In the Boys C Division Noah Gallant was the winner while Jared Young finished second with Nygel Young and Billy Evans ending up tied for 3rd.
Future Links
The Future Links program also had a successful year and ran very smoothly thanks to the help of all the participants and their parents. They were a great group of Future Links players who we hope will all become part of the Junior program in the future.
Congratulations to the winners of the Buddy Tournament inlcuding Nash Kelly, Jayden Lambe, Robyn Higgins and Brooke Evans.
A special thanks go out to the Junior Program and Future Links Co-ordinators Eric Evans and Jennifer Matthews for the great effort they put out this summer. Thanks to you both and good luck in your studies.
