Hackett & Drake win 2021 Club Championship
 | Matthew Hackett easily captured his 5th Grande Meadows Men’s Club Championship on the weekend as he carded scores of 73 and 74 for a 147 total. Joe Drake finished in second with a 2 day total of 158 from daily scores of 80 and 78. Barry Stacey and Bill Hanrahan tied for third with 2 day totals of 161. Stacey had 79 on Saturday and an 82 on Sunday while Hanrahan carded an 82 on Saturday to along with a round of 79 on Sunday. |
 | Judy Drake won her 9th the Ladies Club Championship on the weekend with a couple of great rounds of golf. Drake previously had been tied with Brenda Foley having won 8 titles each. Drake carded scores of 88 on Saturday and 89 on Sunday for a 2 day total of 177. Debbie Kenway finished in second with a 2 day total of 193 from scores of 100 and 93 while Brenda Foley had a 194 total from daily scores of 101 and 93 which was good for 3rd place. Denisine Nolan had a 195 total to finish 4th. Nolan had daily scores of 95 and 100. |
 | Mike Blagdon won the Men’s B Division title on the weekend as he had a 2 day total of 160 from daily scores of 83 and 77. Kevin Pittman finished 2nd with a total of 173 from scores of 88 and 85. Glen Price was alone in 3rd place with a 2 day total of 178 having carded a 92 on Sunday to go along with Saturday’s 86. Bill Buffett and Bob Banfield tied for 4th with totals of 184. Buffett carded scores of 97 and 87 while Banfield had scores of 93 and 91. |
 | Al Lewis won the Men’s C Division crown with a 1 stroke victory over day 1 leader Ben Grandy. Lewis had a 2 day total of 184 from scores of 97 and 87 while Grandy carded a 96 on Sunday to go along with an 89 on Saturday. Everett Farwell finished in 3rd place with a 188 total from daily scores of 99 and 89. Sam Cleal’s 2 day total of 192 from daily scores of 94 and 98 was good for 4th place. Everett Farwell won the C Division Low Net with a score of 148. |

Day 1 Update – Saturday September 19
Matthew Hacket carded a low round of 73 to lead the A Divsion after day 1 of the 2021 Grande Meadows Club Championship. Hackett has a 6 stroke lead over Barry Stacey who finished with a score of 79 while Joe Drake was alone in third with a round of 80. Bill Hanrahan sat alone in 4th with a score of 82.
In the B Divsion Mike Blagdon finished with a score of 83 to take a 3 shot lead over Glenn Price while Kevin Pittman sat 2 strokes back in 3rd with an 88 followed by Junior Champion James Mitchell who carded an 89. Mitchell had his first ever Hole-in-one on the Par 3 12th hole as he used his 7 iron to ace the 160 yard Par 3.
Ben Grandy sits alone atop the C Division with a score of 89 to lead Sam Cleal by 5 strokes after Cleal carded a 94 while Dan Walsh is in third after shooting a 95.
Judy Drake carded a lovely round of 88 to take a 7 stroke lead over Denisine Nolan who carded a 95 followed by Debbie Kenway in 3rd with a score of 100.
Round 2 goes Sunday morning at 7:30am.

Registration Fee: $50.00 per player which included lunch on Saturday(2 PC Chicken & Chips) & Sunday(Soup & Sandwich) and prizes. Divisions will be determined by the number of participants.
A registration desk will be setup on Saturday morning. Tee times will be posted on Thursday with the first time being 8:30am. The clubhouse will be open at 7:30 am and please note that the driving range is open but for irons only. The course made a decision to have NL Power take down the nets due to Hurricane Larry. If damaged the nets would cost around $4,000 to replace.
Fees may be paid to any member of the Tournament Committee – Clayton Welsh, Mike Russell, Frank Haskell, Roy Hillier or Barry Stacey. As well you may pay at the Front Desk – the girls will put your money in an envelope there. As well golfers can etransfer the registration fee to Barry Stacey at barry.stacey@eastlink.ca.
