Club House / Accounting Manager

Grande Meadows Golf Course Association Inc operates a 9-hole public golf course situated in Frenchman’s Cove NL on the Burin Peninsula. It is a not-for-profit entity overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors elected annually by its membership. In addition to the golf course, there is a Pro Shop, Bar and Mulligans Restaurant on site that often caters to social events.

We are hiring a Club House / Accounting Manager for the 2024 season, to manage and oversee Club house staff and all of the accounting operations of Grande Meadows, including but not limited to:

  • Direct and manage all aspects of the Accounting and Administration operation.
  • Experienced in Sage 50 Accounting Software
  • Experienced in Point of Sales Software

* Experienced in Microsoft Office Suit (Outlook, Work, Excel etc.)

  • Supervise and schedule a Point of Sales staff with a complement of approximately 5 persons.
  • Supervise and schedule a kitchen staff with a complement of approximately 1-2 persons.
  • Responsible for financial management of all sales revenue, cash on hand and expenses
  • Budget preparation and reports and ensure adherence to annual budget.

* Responsible for inventory control, including ordering merchandise and supplies for Point of

Sales Operations & Kitchen

* Work with Golf Course Superintendent for Administration and Purchasing.

* Seek out government funding sources and complete required applications.

  • Attend Board of Directors meetings if requested, communicating status of all Point of Sales operations, identifying concerns and suggesting potential solutions for same.

The Accounting Manager should possess strong leadership, problem-solving, interpersonal and organizational skills. The ability to work with other staff, and or with fellow BOD members, as well as engage in self- directed learning opportunities is essential.

Experience and / or education in the areas of business administration, accounting, human resource management and/ or golf course management would be considered an asset.

About the Club:

The Grande Meadows Golf Club is a 9 hole, highly acclaimed (Not for Profit) golf club, located in the rural community of Frenchmen’s Cove, Newfoundland. Grande Meadows is a different type of golf club. In keeping with the relaxed ambience and lack of pretense our members expect, we govern ourselves by values rather than rules. These values guide all aspects of the Club’s operations.

We are a seasonal club open from Mid-April to October offering Food & Beverage options to our Members. We have a moderate clubhouse that seats just over 80 people, a covered patio, canteen concession that offers a variety of beverages, snacks and sandwiches for golfers at the turn. We run weekly member events, tournaments and daily specials.

Grande Meadows Golf Course Cook’s Position Job Description:

Job Summary:

  • Preparations of food, stocking prep items, makes meals and execute meals in a timely fashion, menu planning.
  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs., be on your feet for long periods. Keep a clean and safe environment.
  • Work with the Point of Sales and management team to create meals and be part of the exceptional experience we provide to our Members.

Key Qualifications:

  • License / Certification preferred
  • Have worked in a kitchen or catering company
  • Willing to learn to skills and master current skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and follow checklists
  • Have basic knowledge of Health & Safety
  • Reliable Transportation (no transit available to the Club)
  • Food Safety Course or equivalent (or willing to take the online course)
  • SMART SERVE (not necessary but beneficial)
