\n\tCourse Update<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tApril 3, 2020<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tThis is the first update to membership for the 2020 golf season. The Board of Directors thought it would be a good idea to post regular weekly updates to the website. Check each Friday for the next while for an update on what's happening.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tYou are all aware of the current situation regarding the COVID-19 virus in Newfoundland, Canada and the world. We don't know how this will play out over the coming months but the Board of Directors, for now, will proceed as if we will be going ahead as normal come mid-May. With that in mind on behalf of the Board of Directors, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your membership in 2019. Our board is currently planning for the 2020 season and we are looking forward to your continued membership. The plan is to send out invoices to membership for the 2020 season in the next couple of weeks. Again things may change during that time so we will have to play it by ear.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tThe Board of Directors had a meeting on March 16 during which Keith Howse was elected Chairperson for the 2020 season. John Bugden was elected Vice Chairperson while Barry Stacey was elected Secretary\/Treasurer. The remaining committees are posted to the Grande Meadows Website.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tThe next scheduled meeting was cancelled due to the current pandemic so a Skype meeting went ahead on April 1 with all board members as well as Bill and Kim participating.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tBill reported that 7 of the 9 greens at the course are now snow free and he figures they will need to be mowed around April 20. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tThe Board is diligently checking into some of the federal government programs for wage subsidies and interest free loans. At the moment not all criteria is in place but it should come together over the next few weeks. The Board has been in contact with Golf NL, ACOA as well as MHA Carol Ann Haley and MP Churence Rogers. Hopefully there will be some help there for us during these tough times. We will keep you posted.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tDuring the past few weeks Jeannette Lundrigan has been diligently working at updating the email addresses for Grande Meadows members. She has done a fantastic job and is missing only contact for the following 6 members from last year. If you have an email address or a phone number for any of them could you please pass it along to Jeannette at <\/span><\/span>jeannettelundrigan@gmail.com<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/u><\/span><\/font>. It would be greatly appreciated.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
