\n\tCourse Update<\/b><\/font><\/p>\n

\n\tMay 29, 2020<\/b><\/font><\/p>\n

\n\tGrande Meadows golf course has been open for two weeks now. The course has been fairly busy with a fair number of golfers hitting the fairways and greens each day. Once again things are picking up and all golfers are diligent in following the Covid-19 regulations in place. Please keep up the good work and we will hopefully be able to ease some restrictions when the province moves to Level 3 on June 8.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe following link provides some information on protocols put in place by PGA Atlantic to deal with suspected cases of Covid-19. Click here <\/a>to see that information.<\/p>\n

\n\tThere are a number of IMPORTANT updates that Golf NL has provided to us at this time:<\/font><\/p>\n

  1. \n

    \n\t\t\tThe pulley ball retrieval system is permitted to be used as long as golfers are instructed on how to use the equipment at the 1st tee or prior to their round.<\/span><\/span><\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    \n\t\t\tAs of June 8th members with restaurant facilities will be permitted to open under specific guidelines that are being developed by the Health department and should be posted in the coming days.<\/span><\/span><\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    \n\t\t\tAs of June 8th retail outlets (ProShops) will be permitted to open, under specific guidelines which will be posted in the coming days<\/span><\/span><\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    \n\t\t\tAs of June 8th members will be permitted to operate golf day camp activities again under specific guidelines to be posted shortly.<\/span><\/span><\/font><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \n\tSome of the above activities will be activated under the Alert Level III and I have attached the alert level summary link for your review and reference. Alert Level Summary Link<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/font><\/font><\/font>
    \n\t <\/p>\n

    \n\tMany of our members have signed up for RCGA Membership and have been inputting scores. So far we are happy to report that the majority of members inputting scores are using the Hole by Hole method and we would like to encourage other members to do likewise. Besides providing each golfer with some valuable information it will also provide the course with valuable data in seeing how the holes are playing difficulty wise.<\/p>\n

    \n\tMembership is coming along and we now have approximately 125 members including youth, student and 19 new members. However, there is still room for some more members so please encourage anyone you may know that is thinking of joining up.<\/p>\n

    \n\tGrande Meadows Golf Course is offering a reduced membership fee to any person who was not an individual or corporate associate member of Grande Meadows Golf Course in 2019 of $500.00 plus HST which includes RCGA membership. There is also a reduced membership fee for youth 24 and under as well as full time students. Some people have taken advantage of those deals already. If you know of any person who would like to take advantage of this deal contact Kim at 567-0313 or Bill at 277-1101.<\/p>\n

    \n\tA shout out to Art Cluett who dinged the cup on Hole #3 with his tee shot last Saturday May 23. Unfortunately it can't be considered a hole-in-one but he did finish the hole with a big 1<\/b><\/font> on his scorecard. Way to go Art. Hopefully once the cups are lowered you will do it again.<\/p>\n
