Brenton had lost in the finals to Stone in 2023. On the way to the finals Brenton got by Everett Farwell 7 &amp; 5, Glenn Picco 2UP and in the semi-finals defeated 2024 winner Barry Stacey 3 &amp; 2. Brenton was the runner-up in 2024.<br>Stone got by Gary Smith in Round 1 by a score of 4 &amp; 2 and John Bugden 2 &amp; 1 in Round 2. In his semi-final match Stone defeated Mike Russell 4 &amp; 3.<br><br>Brenton got off the mark early by winning the first 4 holes and Stone could never get any closer than 3 holes behind as Brenton cruised to his first GM Match Play championship.<br><br>Stone got by Gary Smith in Round 1 by a score of 4 &amp; 2 and John Bugden 2 &amp; 1 in Round 2.
