McCarthy & Manning Win Grande Meadows Invitational Titles Sunday
Owen McCarthy captured his 4th Grande Meadows Invitational Men’s title on Sunday as he carded a round of 74 go along with an opening round of 78 for a 152 total. McCarthy previously won the GM Invitational in 2006, 2023 and 2025. Craig Hiscock and Joe Drake of Grande Meadows finished in a tie for 2nd place with two day totals of 163. Hiscock had a low tournament round of 73 on Sunday to with an opening day score of 90. Drake’s total came from an opening round of 78 plus a round of 85 on Sunday.
Donna Manning of Glendenning Golf Course had daily scores of 89 and 84 for a two day total of 173 to win by 10 strokes over club mate Debbie Delaney’s 183 total. Delaney had daily scores of 86 and 97. Lacey Baxter of Grande Meadows finished in 3rd place with a 185 total from scores of 93 and 92.
Brad Pollett of Pitcher’s Pond won the Men’s B Division with a 2 day total of 168. Pollett was 8 strokes back after a Day 1 score of 89 but roared back with a round of 79 to defeat Day 1 leader Wayne Wiscombe of Grande Meadows. Wiscombe had daily scores of 81 and 89 for a 170 total. Bill Warren of Grande Meadows was alone in third with a 2 day total of 176 with daily scores of 92 and 84.
Edmund Antle of Grande Meadows and Derek Button of St. John’s finished in a tie for the Men’s C Division with a 2 day total of 190. Antle had scores of 103 and 87 while Button’s total came from identical daily scores of 95. Antle was awarded 1st place on a countback. Caleb O’Brien and Randy Harris of Pitcher’s Pond finished in a tie for third with totals of 194. O’Brien and Harris finished with identical 2 day scores of 101 and 93.
Bob Hoyles of Grande Meadows captured the Men’s D Division title with a 2 day total of 167 from scores of 90 and 77. Glen Forsey and Jim Farewell of Grande Meadows finished in a tie for 2nd with totals of 175. Forsey carded daily scores of 89 and 86 while Farewell carded scores of 90 and 85.
