Final Report

Brenton leads the way!

Grande Meadows Golf Course participated in Golf Canada’s National Golf League play for the second year this summer. At the completion of the 6 NGL major nights which use a modified Stableford format Bob Brenton finished atop the standings with 74 points. Only the top 4 of the 6 nights are used in the final total. Sam Warren finished in second place with 72 points while Glenn Price was third with 71 and Eric Ayers came in 4th with 70 points. Rounding out the top 8 were Al Lewis in 5th with 68, Dennis Kelly in 6th with 67 points, Calvin Brenton 7th with 66 and Shawn Barry 8th with 65 points. The top 8 along with a partner qualified for the NL Provincial NGL finals to be held at Glendenning Golf Course on Sunday September 21. The top 2 finishers at Glendenning will represent Newfoundland & Labrador in an all expense paid tournament to be held at the site of the 2026 RBC Canadian Open in May of 2026 at TPC Toronto Osprey Valley Golf Course in Caledon, Ontario.

Jim Farewell & Charlie Loughlin represented Grande Meadows in the tournament this past May. As well in 2025 Grande Meadows Lacey Baxter became the first Grande Meadows lady to take part in the NGL League this summer. Lacey finished in 17th place with 59 points which was 4 points ahead of her father Ches’s 55.
