Grande Meadows Golf Course has opened for the 2012 season and tee times can be booked by calling the clubhouse at 826-2600.
Course Superintendent Bill Lee says that the course is probably in the best shape it has ever been after a winter season. There was very little damage and very little snow mould.
According to Lee, "All 9 greens are in great shape for April and all will be open on Saturday as the course sets to open for the upcoming season."
There was a little damage to the course last week as according to Lee, "Somebody came onto the course on an ATV and did some damage by driving on the 3rd and 7th greens. There wasn't a lot of damage but such acts could have a devastating effect on the course."
As well Lee says, "There were a few trees that blew down over the winter but most were dead trees which have already been cleared away."
"The greens were mowed on Friday and the fairways are in great shape as a result of the better than normal weather we have been having recently so I am looking for lots of people to be out today for their first round of the season," indicates Lee.
