Deanna Moulton won the Provincial Junior Ladies Championship for the second straight year this week in the tournament played at the Grand Fall Golf Club.

Moulton led Angela Earle of Humber Valley Resort by one stroke after Day 1 but fell behind by 6 strokes after Day 2. Moulton had scores of 93 and 92 while Earle had scores of 94 and 85. However, on Day 3, the final day, Moulton got her game together and shot a tournament low 84 to win going away by 10 strokes over Earle who managed a score of 100.

Moulton will now represent Newfoundland and Labrador at the Canadian National Championships at Calgary's River Spirit Golf Club.

Meanwhile Heather Drake of Grande Meadows failed to make the Provincial team as she finished in 4th place just 3 strokes behind Jayne Hamly of Grand Falls. Drake had scores of 96, 95 and 93 during the 3 day event.

As well, Eric Evans of Grande Meadows participated in the Provincial Boys Junior Championships and did quite well, finishing in a tie for 17th in the Junior Boys with scores of 95, 94 and 88.  These scores also were enough to give Evans a 10th place finish in the Juvenile Boys Division.
