Bob Hoyles of Grande Meadows sits a little further back after opening Day 1 with a score of 87. Provincial Senior Champion Wayne Ford of Blomidon sits in a tie for 4th with a score of 79. Ernie Sheaves of Bell Bay Golf Course, NS leads after Day 1 having shot a 1 under par 71.
Erin Lundrigan of Bally Haly formerly of Grande Meadows sits in 3rd place in the Ladies Amateur with a Day 1 score of 87 to sit well behind Day 1 leader Crystal Fitzpatrick of NS who carded a score of 75 followed closely by Jennifer Comeau of NS who opened with a 76. The other NL golfer in the Ladies Amateur, Allison Crawford of Clovelly Golf Course finished Day 1 with a score of 93.
