Banfield Aces Hole #7 For Second Time

Bob Banfield aced the Par 3 7th hole at Grande Meadows for the second time in his career on August 2. It was Banfield's 3rd Hole-in-One at Grande Meadows having aced both Hole #3 and Hole #7 during the 2015 golf season. Banfield joins Sam Cleal of Grande Meadows as the only golfers to have 3 Hole-in-Ones on Grande Meadows. Like Banfield, Cleal has one ace on Hole #3 and two on Hole #7.

Banfield calls his ace the perfect shot. Using a 4 hybrid on the 160 yard hole, Banfield says, "It was the perfect shot into a brisk wind. A solid hit with a little fade that landed on the green, bounced a couple of times and rolled into the hole." Banfield continued on to say, "It felt great when it went into the hole. All I could think of was how I am going to use that success to help me at the Bally Haly Invitaional next month. They had better look out in there!"

Banfield was playing in a group with good friend Mike Russell and Scott Glenn of St. John's.
