Junior Golf Report

2019

This year we had fourteen registered golfers and one golfer who paid as he played(he was on vacation for most of the summer and this was approved before he went on vacation by Susan). In this group of kids, we had three children who moved up from Future Links—Noah King, Noah Gallant, and Jack Gallant— and one child who only started this year, Holly Avery.

After the first day of competition, James Mitchell was beating Logan Stacey by one stroke from the white markers. Mitchell took the championship after the second day of the tournament with a score of 112. Mitchell also represented Grande Meadows at the Junior Championship that took place in Glendenning Golf Course, St.John’s, NL.

Madalynn Stacey was beating Cali Brenton by one stroke as well after the first day of the tournament. Brenton took the girls division with a score of 152, after the second day of the competition.

In the boy's reds division, Jermery Wiscombe had a huge lead over the rest of the boys after day one. He had a score of 64 while his closest competition, Matthew Coady, had a score of 72. Wiscombe won the tournament with a score of 146.

In the oranges division, Noah King was in the lead after day one with a score of 76. His closest competition was Noah Gallant with a score of 81. King took the tournament with a score of 154.

Each day of competition we had three hole competitions and three divisions participating in these competitions.  On the first day, we had Longest Drive on Hole #5 for the Whites and Logan Stacey was the winner.

We had Closest to the White Line on Hole #2 for the Reds and Cali Brenton was the winner.

Finally, we had Longest Drive on Hole #9 for the Oranges and Holly Avery was the winner.

On the second day of the tournament we had Closest to the Pin on Hole #7 for the Whites and James Mitchell was the winner. We had Longest Drive on Hole #5 for the Reds and Matthew Coady was the winner. Finally, we had Closest to the White Line on Hole #2 for the Oranges and the winner once again was Holly Avery. After day two of the tournament we had a Putting Contest and Matthew Coady was the winner.

Future Links Golf Report
2019

This year in Future Links we had 8 children participate. We had two returning children and six new children. Throughout the year the children learned many skills and improved so much over the course of the summer.

This year for the final tournament we had Hole competitions on the three holes that they played. Brooke Evans(returning golfer) won Longest Drive on Hole #1, Aidan Rogers(new golfer) won Closest to the White Line on Hole #2, and Brooke Evans won Longest Drive on Hole #3

We had a tie for 3rd place between Nate Rogers(new golfer) and Robyn Higgins(new golfer). We did a putting contest to determine the winner and Robyn Higgins won. In 2nd place, we had Nixon Keeping(new golfer). And in 1st place, we had Brooke Evans(returning golfer).

The kids had a great year and they had fun at the banquet!
