Wayne Dodge of Burin passed away on April 15 at his winter residence in Largo, Florida. Wayne was a loyal member of Grande Meadows Golf Course and a great supporter of Men’s Night throughout the past few years. Wayne’s smile and sense of humor was always at the forefront when he was at the golf course. Wayne was always on the clubhouse deck chatting it up with some of the many participating golfers while waiting for his tee time to come up. On the course he always loved seeing his fellow golfers hit good shots and he was always the first to congratulate them.

Condolences on behalf of all golfers at Grande Meadows go out to Wayne’s wife Daphne, his sons Tommy & Tim as well as his extended family.

Rest in peace Wayne!
Harry Cooze of Marystown passed away on March 5 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Harry along with his wife Dora had a membership for a few years and really enjoyed the game. In early rounds Harry had trouble getting across the pond on Hole #6 but he exercised those demons in the first round of the Club Championship in 2000 when after hitting a good tee shot put his second shot on the green and made the putt for birdie.

Albert Snook of Fortune passed away on February 21. He enjoyed the game of golf and was a member for a few years. He was a great person to golf with and enjoyed the chat as much as the golf. Albert played in a few tournaments but as most were held on Saturdays which was a busy day at the office for him he could only play occasionally. Albert played a lot of his golf with Terrence Stacey, a former member who passed away in 2018. I’m sure they have already met up on the other side for a round.

Cyril Dodge formerly of Burin passed away on February 13. He was a founding member of Grande Meadows Golf Course and served on the Board of Directors for the first 5 years of operation including 2 years as Board Chairperson. Cyril business sense proved invaluable in helping to get Grande Meadows set up on solid ground. He loved a round of golf and especially the conversation that took place during the round.
