The 2010 Grande Meadows Match Play tournament wrapped up recently with Clayton Welsh defeated defending champion Bob Hoyles 4 and 2 to claim the title. It was Welsh’s first match play title. He got to the finals by defeating Barry Stacey in Round 1 and Ivan Paul in Round 2. Welsh received a 3rd Round bye before defeating Hoyles in the Championship Match. Hoyles defeated Randy Douglas 2 up in Round 1, received a bye in Round 2 before getting by Bob Banfield 3 up to set up the title match with Welsh. In the Consolation Final, Barry Stacey got by Gerard Cooke 3 and 2. |
