Barry Stacey fired a tournament record 75 to win his second consecutive Burin Peninsula Open Tournament on Saturday. The old record of 76 was set by Bob Hoyles in 2011. Stacey finished 2 strokes ahead of Deon Walsh and Ches Cribb who both carded scores of 77. Ray Walsh finished two strokes back with a score of 79.
Stacey had scores of 41 – 34 while Deon Walsh was 38 – 39 and Cribb had scores of 39 – 38 while Ray Walsh had 39 – 40.
Carl Brown captured Division 2 with a score of 86 to win over Jason Cribb who shot 92 while Peter Coady finished in a tie for third with Dick Hanrahan with scores of 94. Brown had 9's of 39 – 47 while Cribb had 48 – 44. Coady had 47 on both the front and back 9's while Hanrahan shot 46 on the front and 48 on the back.
Judy Drake captured the Ladies Division with a score of 90 to win by 3 strokes over Debbie Kenway who shot a 93 while Jennifer Walsh finished 3rd with a score of 98. Betty Walsh finished fourth with a score of 100. Drake had a front 9 46 to go along with a back 9 of 44 while Kenway carded 44 on the front and 49 on the back. Nolan had a front 9 of 48 to go along with a back 9 of 50 while Walsh had 50 on both the front and back 9.
Ches Cribb won the Division 1 Low Net with a score of 63 while Robin Smith finsihed second with a score of 66 followed closely by Keith Roberts in third with 69 and Bill Hanrahan in fourth one stroke back with a 70.
Dick Hanrahan won the Division 2 Low Net in a tie break over Steve Douglas. Both had scores of 71 while Eric Ayres finished third with a score of 71 and Wayne Taylor finished fourth with a score of 75.
Debbie Kenway won the Ladies Division Low Net with a score of 68 while Betty Walsh finished second with a score of 73.
