Matthew Hackett and Debbie Kenway capture 2017 Grande Meadows Club Championships.

Matthew Hackett defended his title and captured his 3rd Grande Meadows men's club championship on Sunday afternoon when he fired a second round 76 to go along with an opening day 86 for a 2 day total of 162.  Day 1 leader Ray Walsh finished one shot behind after carding an opening round of 77 and followed that up with an 86 on Sunday afternoon. Ches Cribb finished alone in 3rd place with a two day total of 167 from daily scores of 82 and 85. Hackett previously won his titles in 2013 and 2016.

Debbie Kenway won her first Grande Meadows Ladies Club Championship on Sunday afternoon by shooting a Day 2 round of 93 to go along with an opening day score of 95 for a 188 total to win by 7 strokes over former champion Judy Drake who had daily scores of 102 and 93 for a 195 total. Jennifer Moulton finished in 3rd place with a 202 total have carded a round of 98 on Saturday to go along with a 104 on Sunday. It should be noted that 2017 Grande Meadows Junior Ladies Champion Rachel Day competed in the Ladies Division on an exhibition basis and finished with a 2 day total of 217 from scores of 112 and 105 which was good for a net total of 137 which was second best in the Ladies Division.

 

 

 

 

 

Men's Club Champion: __Matthew Hackett__ 86 + 76 = 162

 

Ladies Club Champion: __Debbie Kenway__ 95 + 93 = 188

In Division B Mike Blagdon carded an 85 including an eagle on the Par 5 Hole 14 as he holed out his third shot on the way to capturing the B Division title. Blagdon who started the day 1 stroke behind Day 1 leaders Edmund Antle and John Bugden who carded scores of 86 on Saturday to Blagdon's 87. 

Dick Hanrahan won the C Division title with a 2 day total of 185 from scores of 94 and 91 to win by 4 strokes over Josh Moulton who carded daily scores of 98 and 91 for a 189 total. Day 1 Leader Kevin Carvery slipped to a second round 99  to go along with Saturday's 92 and finished alone in third place with a 192 total.

Ray Walsh fired an opening round 77 to lead the Garnde Meadows 2017 Club Championship after Day 1 on Saturday. Walsh leads by 5 strokes over Ches Cribb who fired an opening round 82 while Perry Stone stands alone in third place after shooting an 84. Justin Cluett stands alone in 4th place with an 84 while defending champion Matthew Hackett is in fifth with an 85.

Ed Antle and John Bugden lead B Division after shooting scores of 86 to lead by one stroke over Mike Blagdon who carded an 87. Eric Evans and Glenn Price stand tied for 4th place with day 1 scores of 88.

Kevin Carvery leads the C Division after Day 1 having carded an opening round of 93 to lead Dick Hanrahan who shot an 84. Wayne Stacey sits alone in 3rd place having carded a 97 while Josh Moulton shot a 98 to sit 1 stroke back in 4th.

Debbie Kenway fired an opeing round 95 to lead the Ladies Division by 3 strokes over Jennifer Moulton who carded a 98 while Betty Walsh stis alone in 3rd with a score of 101.

Day 2 Tee Times start at 8:00 am on Sunday.
