Grande Meadows Club Championship

Congratulations to Sam Warren and Tracy Blagdon on winning the Men's and Ladies Club Championship last weekend. Warren carded daily scores of 78 and 75 for a 153 total to win by 2 strokes over defending Champion Matthew Hackett who had daily scores of 76 and 79. Meanwhile Blagdon won her first Ladies title with a 3 stroke victory over defending champion Judy Drake. Blagdon's 193 total came from daily scores of 94 and 99 while Drake 102 and 94 totaled 196.

54 golfers played in the championship on the weekend which was met with ideal conditions – sunny, warm weather with little wind. Congratulations to all the other division winners in both gross and net. Click here to see a list of all the winners in each division. Congratulations to Matthew Hackett on his eagle on Hole #17 on Saturday and to Champion Sam Warren & Deon Grandy for their 5 birdies each on the weekend. Congrats to Tracy Blagdon for her birdie on Hole 15 on Saturday.

Special thanks go out to Junior golfers Kevin Power and James Mitchell who competed both days with neither coming out the winner as both finished the 2 day tournament with 205 totals.
 

23rd Annual Grande Meadows Invitational

The 23rd Annual Grande Meadows Invitational originally scheduled for June will now go ahead on Friday to Sunday September 25 – 27. 68 golfers from the Burin Peninsula to St. John's to Stephenville have signed up to play. The tournament begins with a practice round on Friday followed by 2 competitive stroke play rounds on Saturday and Sunday. Many of the competing golfers will take part in the 10th Annual Bally Haly Grande Meadows Ryder Cup style Challenge on Friday afternoon. Players will be paired up to play a 4 Ball Match on the Front 9 followed by singles matches on the Back 9. There will be a possible 3 points for each group with the team with the most points winning the Challenge Trophy. Grande Meadows has won the first 9 years but Bally Haly has put together a formidable team this year and Grande Meadows will have their work cut out to win this year.

Remainder of 2020 Season Special

Any non-member can come and play golf at Grande Meadows for the remainder of the 2020 season while the course is open for $200.00 plus HST. A great deal for any non-member.

We'll Pay For Your Play In 2021

Grande Meadows has a promotion for the remainder of the season whereby one person gets the opportunity to have his/her membership paid for the 2021 golf season. Every green fee paying non-member will get a ballot each time that person pays to play at Grande Meadows for the remainder of the 2020 season.

 

Please note that the Grande Meadows Clubhouse and Pro Shop are open for shopping and Mulligans Restaurant is open from Thursday to Sunday. Check the Grande Meadows website for open times and the menu.
