Men’s Night National Golf League Fundraiser

In Aid of First Tee Golf Program

4 Person Best Ball Tournament

Tournament Report

64 golfers teed off in ideal conditions for the First Tee golf program fundraiser 8:30am on Saturday morning at Grande Meadows Goof Course. Playing conditions were ideal and the scoring showed that in the final results.

Final tally isn’t in yet but the amount raised exceeded expectations including a $130.00 donation from Albert Pike of Pike’s Building Center in Salt Pond. Albert made the donation since funds raised was going towards young golfers. Thank you Albert.

Many thanks go out to our other sponsors who donated prizes and product including Molson Brewery, Jackson Triggs wine, Oceanic and Ray Walsh.

When the dust settled and the results were tabulated the team of Mike Blagdon, Tracy Blagdon, Frank Haskell and Brad Russell finished first with a score of 11 under par 61. Taking second place in a tie breaker was the team of Calvin Brenton, Bill Hodder, Bob Hoyles and Barry Stacey with an 8 under par score of 64. In third place with a similar score of 8 under par 64 was the team of Albert Pike, Bill Warren, Daniel Warren and Sam Warren. Rounding out the top 4 was the team of Denny Collier, John Douglas, Mike Douglas and Cory Grandy who finished with a score of 7 under par 65.

Other on course prizes went to Glenn Forsey for closest-to-the-pin on Hole #3 with a distance of 4′ while Paul Lambe was closest-to-the-pin on Hole # 7 with a distance of 3′ ½”. Winner of the 50-50 draw for $110.00 was Perry Stone.

A very big thank you goes out the the Men’s Night Committee as well as the Tournament Committee for their efforts in putting the tournament together. Special thanks to the girls in the clubhouse for all their efforts and to Gertie Howse for helping with registration and scorekeeping.

A grand time was had by all!
