Hackett & Blagdon 2024 Club Champions!
 | Matthew Hackett captured his 4th straight Grande Meadows Men’s Club Championship with a 2 stroke victory over Joe Drake. Drake led after Day 1 when he carded the low score of day with a 77 to lead defending champion Hackett by 2 strokes going into Sunday as Hackett shot a 79. After 9 holes on Sunday Hackett fought his way back into a tie for the lead and went on to defeat Drake. Hackett carded Sunday’s low round of 77 while Drake came in with an 81. Mike Blagdon shots scores of 82 and 80 to finish in third place at 162. In a very tight Ladies Dvision Tracy Blagdon won her second title by defeating defending Champion Debbie Kenway by 1 stroke over 2 days of competition. Blagdon had daily scores of 100 and 103 for a 203 total while Kenway carded identical scores of 102 on both days for a 204 total. First time competitiors Ethel Chaulk and Rita Lundrigan rounded out the top 4 with Chaulk shooting scores of 103 and 111 for a 214 total while Lundrigan had 109 on Saturday and 112 on Sunday for a 2 day total of 221. Frank Hodder won the Men’s C Divsion with a 2 day total of 177 having had daily scores of 91 and 86. Art Cluett was 6 strokes back with a 183 total having shot 91 on Saturday and 93 on Sunday. John Bugden’s scores of 98 and 93 for a 191 total was good enough to give him third place. |
 | 2024 Grande Meadows Junior Men’s Champion Carson Aylward was invited to take part in the 2024 Club Championship on an exhibition basis and he had a great time. He impressed his playing partners both days – not just with his great golf game but with his respect for his fellow players. They were all very impressed by Carson. He played on the red/yellow tees in the C Division and shot a score of 92 on Saturday and 86 on Sunday for a 2 day total of 178 which was 1 stroke off the C Division lead. Day 1 Recap
Joe Drake carded a fine round of 77 on Saturday to lead defending Men’s Club Champion Matthew Hackett by 2 strokes in the A Division after Day 1 of the 2024 GM Club Championships. Hackett 79 was good enough for second while Mike Blagdon came in third place with a score of 82. Sam Warren rounded out the top 4 with a round of 83
Bob Hoyles has a 7 stroke lead in the B Division having finished the day with a score of 81 while Noah Ryan was in second having carded a score of 88. Bob Banfield was 1 stroke back at 89 while Ben Grandy rounded out the top four with a score of 91.
Grande Meadows Junior Champion Carson Aylward leads the way in the Men’s C Division with a score of 87 which is 4 strokes ahead of Frank Hodder and Art Cluett who had scores of 91. Wayne Antle rounded out the top 4 with a round of 94.
Each year the Junior Men’s and Ladies Champions are invited to take part in the Club Championship for the experience. They are only eligible for any on course prizes. The 2024 Ladies Champion Annie McCarthy was unable to take part.
In a very tight Ladies Division Tracy Blagdon leads the way with a round of 100 which is a 2 stroke lead over Debbie Kenway who carded a score of 102. Ethel Chaulk is one stroke back with a round of 103 while Rita Lundrigan rounded out the top 4 with a score of 109.

Players are encouraged to register by calling the clubhouse at 709-826-2600. The Registration fee is $40.00 per player which includes a lunch on both Saturday and Sunday along with a 2 for 1 Molson product each day.
There will be 4 Divisions including A, B, C and Ladies with prizes awarded for both Gross and Net scores. As well there will be some on course prizes each day.
