Finale Sunday September 22
Men’s Night Finale Report
35 Golfers teed off on a bright sunny and cool Sunday morning in the 2024 Grande Meadows Men’s Night Finale. 7 teams of 5 players played 9 holes of regular golf and 9 holes of best ball. When the dust settled Team #4 made up of Sam Warren, Jim Farewell, Frank Hodder, Bob Brenton and Sam Cleal won First Place in Low Net with a score of 189 while Team # 7 comprised of Matthew Hackett, Calvin Brenton, Roy Hillier, Paul Lambe and Eric Ayers won the Best Ball event with a score of -6.
All 7 teams were in the prizes and there were various on course prizes also given out during the awards presentation following the completion of play. Sam Warren won the chipping contest, Mike Blagdon was the winner of the putting contest and George Hooper was the winner of free Men’s Night Golf in 2025.
The end to a perfect 2024 Men’s Night Golf season was brought to an end with a barbecue and the announcement of the Norm Croucher Award Winner for 2024. This year’s award winner was Charlie Loughlin who personifies the spirit and dedication to Men’s Night which Norm Croucher exemplified for many years in his participation in Grande Meadows Men’s Night.

- Player’s will play from the Front tees – that is white or red – whichever you normally play.
- All players will putt on each green and count the number of birdies made on each hole. Add the total birdie putts made on the 9 holes. The team with the most birdies win.
- Rules of Play: Teams of 4 using each player’s tee shot at least twice. Check with the Men’s Committee for rules if team consists of 3 or 5 players.
- IMPORTANT: Golfers are asked to come to the registration desk to select a group. The first group to 4 players will tee off first and so on.
- Leave a note with the front desk if you are going to need a later tee time.

All holes tonight will be turned into Par 3’s. All players will play from the Orange tees on each hole. Some of the tees will be placed in the fairways.
- All holes distances will be posted on the Men’s Night Board. and painted on the ground.
- Players are asked to book their own tee times beginning at 4:00pm
- Each player will play his own ball while keeping his own score. At the end of the round cards will be selected in pairs with the 2 golfers receiving the highest score and the 2 golfers receiving the lowest score being declared winners.

Thursday July 18 — One Club + A Putter
- Players are allowed to use just 1 club and a putter for the full 9 holes.
- Players will be allowed a “hand wedge” in the bunkers. There will be drop areas marked by each bunker where players may drop a ball that goes in the bunker.
- Players will play their own ball from the forward red/yellow tees.
- Players are allowed 2 Mulligans to be used on the putting greens ONLY.
- Players are asked to pass in their scorecard at the end of the round.

- Player’s will play from the Front tees – that is white or red – whichever you normally play.
- Bonus Prizes: There will be 2 draws from participants for a $10 ProShop certificate since the deuce pot will not be in play.
- Regular games skins and 50/50 will be in play along with the following on course prizes.

- Hole #2 – Closest to the Pin Second Shot sponsored by Hooper’s Construction
- Hole #3 – Closest to the pin sponsored by Castle Building Supplies
- Hole #7 – Closest to the pin sponsored by BP Metal Products
- Hole #9 – Closest to the pin second shot sponsored by OK Tire
- Rules of Play: Teams of 4 using each player’s tee shot at least twice. Check with the Men’s Committee for rules if team consists of 3 or 5 players.
- Golfers are asked to call the clubhouse to have their name on the list to play by 3:30pm Thursday if you haven’t already signed up. Teams will be selected at that time. Leave a note with the front desk if you are going to need a later tee time.
