Grande Meadows Men’s Night Group

On Saturday the GM Men’s Night Group’s Chairperson Edmund Antle made a special presentation to Lacey Baxter (Cribb), Chairperson of the Grande Meadows Junior Golf/Future Links program as well as Andrew Robere and Wayne Bolt of the Grande Meadows Board of Directors from funds raised at last year’s tournament.

The Men’s Night Group donated registration packages for each member of the 2025 Junior golf program made up of golf balls, tees and a divot repair tool. As well the group donated some orange cones and alignment rods for kids to use during golf drills on the driving range.

Lacey thanked the group for their generous donation and spoke of her own experience with the Grande Meadows Junior Golf Program. After completing the Grande Meadows Junior Golf Program Lacey attended Alcorn State University in Alcorn, Mississippi on a golf scholarship and she mentioned the support she received from the Grande Meadows program. Lacey also encouraged all Grande Meadows members to donate a little of their time to the Junior Golf program by volunteering to help out during a Tuesday or Thursday morning this season.

As well 2 golfers from Bally Haly Golf Course, namely Ken Casey and Bill Halley donated their winnings of $150.00 from the recent Grande Meadows Invitational to the Grande Meadows Junior Golf Program. Both Casey and Halley who are Remax agents in St. John’s have been attending the Grande Meadows Invitational for the past 26 years. Ken Casey, a member of the Golf NL Hall of Fame says, “Juniors are every clubs future!” Well said, thank you to both gentlemen.

The 2nd place team from the day including Everett Farwell, Art Kavanagh, Alf Marshall and Matthew Marshall donated $40.00 to the Junior Golf Program.

Thank you
