The last tournament of the 2021 golf season at Grande Meadows got underway with a shotgun start at 9:00am Saturday morning. 16 teams participated in the 2 Person Alternate Shot tournament. The weather conditions were fantastic with a nice warm, sunny day with little winds. At the end of the day the golfers were treated to some fabulous prizes plus a lunch at the completion of the tournament.

The First Place winners using the Don MacBeath scoring system(see below) was the team of Wayne Wiscombe and Tom Smith with a combined score of 15 while in second place was the team of Vic Lundrigan and Barry Stacey with a score of 7. Lundrigan and Stacey were tied with Bill Lee and Richard Kelly but took second place on the countback tie breaking system. The Third place team with a score of 84 was Mike and Tracy Blagdon.

The Don MacBeath scoring system used again this year.

First Place – the team with the highest score on Holes #4 and #13 combined.

Second Place – the team with the lowest score on Holes #4 and #13 combined.

Third Place – the team with the closest score to Don’s age – (71)

*If a tie exists we will count back from Hole #18 with the highest score breaking the tie!

Various other prizes were awarded for on course contests along with the very popular chipping contest which was won by Ches Cribb. Players who didn’t win the on course prizes were given draw prizes consisting of items donated such at pickles, jams, berries, vegetables, gift certificates and rounds of golf at other golf courses.

A great time was had by all participants and a great big thank you to organizers Stan & Marilyn McCarthy and Vic & Jeannette Lundrigan.
